Hello, Hello!!
My name is Lance Householder. I am currently a junior studying at the University of Tampa. I am majoring in Psychology, Film and Media Arts, and Communications, Media, and Culture. These majors all encapsulate my passion for the world of digital content creation and its affect of the people that consume and enjoy it.
Nothing is more relatable than realizing the night a project is due that your idea has fallen through. What happens when that project is supposed to be a filmed documentary? Simple, just make a documentary about not having a documentary! Meta!
The short film is a simple fight scene between two characters with some magical abilities that, in the end, is revealed to be the dramatized version of two children playing. It was the first time I filmed a fight scene, which created an interesting but fun challenge.
This was a documentary film that I made alongside creating the Ultimate Fight. In this documentary, I outline the processes that go into making a short film: the script writing, creating storyboards, shot lists, and call sheets, the process of filming, and then finally the editing process. This was fun getting to see all the behind the scenes of the film, then seeing the film at the end to see all that work coming together.
A simple, but impactful documentary that I made about my unique connection to one of my old high school friends. Despite being multiple states apart and not having the free time that we used to, we still manage to keep connected through our small DND game.
My first ever experimental film which is a look into the tedious and repetitive nature of notes and school. Experimenting with editing and mixing up shots, this film is mainly a visual and auditory experience meant to capture a feeling students are all too familiar with.
This client had me plan, design, and create an entirely new buisness
website utilizing Squarespace. For the creation, I utilized text and image assets to create an engaging and informative site. During this assignment I worked closely with the business’ owners to ensure their vision for the site was executed without issue.
For this project, I spearhead a team of volunteer editors, directed entirely virtual. This project mainly involves categorizing and presenting information in an aesthetic, yet functional manner. In addition to the technical coding aspect, there is a great deal of collaborative efforts.
This is a self guided research project that focuses on analyzing the digital environment surrounding the Random Encounters youtube channel to discover what elements of their videos produce the best performance for their audience. This combines my skills in research with my understanding of the digital market.
During my Statistics and Experimental Methods II class, we wrote a full manuscript outlining our analysis of the validity of a previously created Affective Empathy Scale as well as using that scale alongside other scales to understand the motivators of Compliance with COVID-19 guidelines.
